I needed this. I needed this badly.
Light like this doesn't happen very often. To get this on my 4th day in the Faroe Islands was like finding a four leaf clover.
This amazing sunset went on for an hour. I can tell you there were a lot of delighted expletives gushing from my gob.
I ended up hundreds of shots with different light action going on which I'll post periodically.
I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did.

Almost every high point on the Faroe Islands will reward you with an excellent view.
If you don't feel up to the steep incline, sit back and enjoy the view that I shot just for you :)
This is where my shooting buddy Warren got me hooked on Srylinger. A savage tooth rotting Haribo treat. Video to follow.
By the end of the trip I was on 2 bags of Srylinger per day so it's a good thing we left the Islands before it could get any worse.
I really hope Srylinger is not available here in Canada or my dentist bills will be through the roof.

I realize it's the same old tale that we photogs keep telling.
Patience isn't something I have in abundance, but for some reason I can muster up infinite patience when it comes to getting a shot.
After a drive, ferry and hike, it was looking pretty gloomy at Kalsoy light house in the Faroe Islands.
I was actually prepared to spend the night alone on this cliff but thankfully I didn't have to.
After dodging sheep shayte for 2 hours, the sun finally gave us a 15 minute window of dynamic light.
This is a 5 shot vertical pano shot with an 18mm lens. The distortion caused by the lens and pano software makes that peak look a lot more pointy than it really is. But, I kinda like the look of it so I kept it.

You might just be able to make out the cow in the distance there getting head rubs from the local lady.
Every time a car would go past, the cow would 'mooooaaargh'. At first I assumed it was because the cars annoyed the cow.
After a while observing this I realized the cow was after some head rubs. The elderly lady finally stopped to give the cow some attention and it LOVED it.
Now I want a pet cow. Just need a farm first.

I could not have made this photo without the help of Warren Chamberlain. Check out his work here www.flickr.com/photos/152499667@N08/
He patiently drove up and down the mountain to create these lovely car light trails.
I set me camera to shoot a continuous time lapse with each shot being a 30" exposure.
Warren then drove to the bottom of the hill then texted me ''Ready for me to come up'', then headed back up the hill.
This allowed me to capture the high beams and the tail lights.
The Faroe Islands truly are magical with endless photo ops wherever you look.
Join me there next spring www.fototripper.com/store/faroe-islands-photography-works...
Can anyone spot Warrens camera and tripod?
