At first, I was delighted when Gord Follet climbed somewhat dangerously into this shot.

I could see immediately that that massive ray of light would most likely backlight him, giving some scale to the composition.

2 hours later and he was still stood there.

This then tempted one of our workshop group to join him which then tempted a random tracksuit wearer to do the same.

Just as the light reached it's penultimate zenith we had three people in the prime spot of our shot and it became a cluster.

At this point, the waves were raging and tracksuit almost fell into the Maelstrom a couple of times. We were all precariously perched on sharp rocks, biting our nails waiting for tracksuit to slip this mortal coil, but he somehow made it.

On his way out of the canyon I was chatting with him and noticed that his breath was giving off waves of THC vapor. So it turns out he was royally baked the whole time he did acrobatics on those slippery rocks.

I hope he did the lottery that day because his luck was strong.

You can watch the entire adventure at youtu.be/cKpR7_iMRLA?feature=shared

Thanks for reading.

I'm not sure I'd risk it with my current girth.

It was a lovely foggy morning on Fogo Island in Newfoundland.

Handheld shot with the Hasselblad X2D.

Thanks for looking.

A beautifully clear piece of this iceberg is currently sitting in my freezer at home.

A Brighton local called Jerdan regularly ventures out in his boat to collect the pieces of ice that crumble and fall from the big icebergs.

He gives the white cloudy ice to visitors for free but if you chat for a while and convince him you're a big Youtuber he might just hand you a slice of the crystal clear stuff that's been trapped in a glacier for 10,000 years.

I'm waiting for a special occasion to enjoy a pint of Baileys with some lovely glacier ice.

What could possibly go wrong?

Thanks for looking
Gavin
