The sunsets over Hamnøy were spectacular. You could hardly get a moment's rest because you were constantly being driven out the door with your camera in your hand by new and crazy lighting moods.

Die Sonnenuntergänge über Hamnøy waren spektakulär. Man kam kaum zur Ruhe, weil einen immer wieder neue verrückte Lichtstimmungen mit der Kamera in der Hand vor die Tür getrieben haben.

Rorbu (plur. rorbuer) is the Norwegian term for a fishing hut that is only used seasonally. The word rorbu is made up of the words “ro” (to row) and “bu” (to live in). The huts were built in the province of Nordland in particular and allowed the fishing of fish stocks in areas where it would have been extremely difficult to survive all year round, for example in cod fishing.

Nowadays, these huts are often used as accommodation for tourists. We spent the night in one of these huts and were delighted to see the sun rising over the other huts!

Rorbu (plur. Rorbuer) ist die norwegische Bezeichnung für eine nur saisonal genutzte Fischerhütte. Das Wort Rorbu setzt sich aus den Wörtern „Ro“ (Rudern) und „bu“ (Wohnen) zusammen. Die Hütten wurden insbesondere in der Provinz Nordland errichtet und erlaubten das Abfischen von Fischbeständen in Gegenden, in denen ein ganzjähriges Überleben nur mit größter Mühe möglich gewesen wäre, etwa bei der Dorschfischerei.

Heutzutage befinden sich in diesen Hütten häufig Unterkünfte für Touristen. Wir haben in so einer Hütte übernachtet und haben uns über die Sonne gefreut, die über den anderen Hütten aufgegangen ist!

The view of Hamnøy in northern Norway is probably one of the most photographed spots in the region. Nevertheless, it always takes a bit of luck to catch the right weather conditions for a photo. In this case, we were lucky and a cloud was decoratively caught in the crown of the mountain “Festhæltinden”. The warm late afternoon light also came in very handy.

Der Blick auf Hamnøy im Nordnorwegen ist wohl einer der am meisten fotografierten Spots der Region. Dennoch gehört immer etwas Glück dazu, die passenden Wetterbedingungen für ein Foto zu erwischen. In diesem Fall war uns das Glück hold und eine Wolke verfing sich dekorativ in der Krone des Berges "Festhæltinden". Das warme spätnachmittägliche Licht kam auch sehr gelegen.

Danish merchants allegedly gave the Kirkjufell in Iceland the name “Sukkurtoppen”, which means “sugar loaf”. It is also the most photographed mountain in Iceland and was a setting for “Game Of Thrones”.

The motif offers something for the eye in every light mood, but I particularly like Kirkjufell just after a storm with a rainbow in the sky.

Dänische Kaufleute gaben dem Kirkjufell in Island angeblich den Namen "Sukkurtoppen", was "Zuckerhut" bedeutet. Außerdem ist dies der meistfotografierte Berg Islands und war Schauplatz in "Game Of Thrones".

Das Motiv bietet bei jeder Lichtstimmung etwas fürs Auge, aber kurz nach einem Sturm mit einem Regenbogen am Himmel gefällt mir der Kirkjufell besonders gut.
