It's New Year's Day, and we're bringing in 2025 with some Pevler Blue as NS's Norfolk & Western heritage locomotive leads NS train 224 up to MP 258 at Missouri City on the joint NS Kansas City District - BNSF Brookfield Sub. The train will work Voltz Yard near Birmingham, MO first, setting out the stacks on the head end and autoracks on the rear end. The "town cars", a block of manifest in the middle, will be taken to NS's Avondale Yard in North KC.

The "Pevler Blue" name for this scheme began when Herman H. Pevler became president for the N&W following the merger with the Wabash, and this scheme, which basically was the Wabash scheme, was then adopted. Here on former WAB/N&W territory, this engine is right at home, still following the flag all these years later after the names have changed. 1/1/25.

A trio of KCS retro belle Geep's along with a UP GE bring "Run 12", CPKC train YKK12-01, into the West Bottoms on Main Track 1 of the UP KC Metro Sub between Broadway and St Louis Ave. They have with them a transfer from CPKC's Knoche Yard to UP's 18th St. Yard, and they'll return east later this afternoon. 1/1/25.

"Run 20", CPKC train YKK20-01, ascends the KCT Argentine Connection Flyover, sometimes referred to as the "Skyway", above BN Interlocking on Track AC1 with transfer tonnage en route from CPKC's Knoche Yard to BNSF's Argentine Yard. A KCS SD70MAC, a CP SD40-2 and a CP GP20C-ECO are the power this job again. 1/1/25.

With their train doubled up and the conductor brought back to the head end, "Run 20", CPKC train YKK20-29, is on the move again as it climbs the hill on Main Track 1 of the KCT East-West Corridor at Sheffield. A KCS SD70MAC, a CP SD40-2 and a CP GP20C-ECO are leading this transfer from CPKC's Knoche Yard to BNSF's Argentine Yard, and they'll return east as light power this evening. 12/29/24.
