A solo AC44/60CW rebuild is finally on the move west as it leads UP train MASNP-21 down Main Track 2 of the UP KC Metro Sub at Hickory St.

After working Neff, the initial plan was to send this train onto the KCT and through Armourdale in order to bypass 18th St, and they made it as far as the top of The Incline waiting for a signal from KCT West End at Old Union Depot Interlocking. However, the Terminal refused to take the train due clearance issues on the Kaw River Bridge with their high-wide loads, the big cut of military equipment on the head end, so they ended up having to shove clear of Broadway, wait on a couple moves and finally begin moving west out of town, sewing up most of the KC Metro Sub in the process. 12/22/24.

Cutting through the West Bottoms at Hickory St on Main Track 1 of the UP KC Metro Sub is "Run 12", CPKC train YKK12-22, led by a pair of Retro Belle Geep's. This is the daily transfer between CPKC's Knoche Yard and UP's 18th St. Yard. 12/22/24.

Skirting along the Missouri River as it approaches Broadway on the Omaha Main is UP train YKC44R-21 with a single GP15-1 running long hood forward. They're making their way east with 19 autoracks from Fairfax bound for storage at Neff.

This is normally a nocturnal job out of Neff that transfers cars to Fairfax, mostly traffic for the next day's MFXAS. Typically, the power returns light to Neff.

The UPY No. 652 is currently the only GP15-1 in service around town. Though not the most glamorous engine, I like the way it's weathered, especially with it's original Mo-Pac Jenks Blue bleeding through in spots. 12/22/24.

After doubling up at CPKC's Knoche Yard, "Run 12", formally CPKC train YKK12-22, heads down the North Main across Olive St towards Lydia Ave, where they'll call the UP Kansas City East Dispatcher for a signal onto the UP KC Metro Sub. This is a transfer bound for UP's 18th St. Yard, a pair of Geep's are in charge again today. 12/22/24.
