i see an existence with no bounds
knowing that freedom

i'm interrupting my black & white series to share this image (those of you in my Facebook circle may have already seen this). when i saw these two kids when i was at the Los Angeles County Arboretum last week i imagined this dreamlike scene. i created the motion blur effect using Adobe Photoshop CS6.

Please indulge me while I continue to post flowers for my black and white series. To me flowers are all about colors, and it is quite challenging for me not to show them. But the very reason for this series is to challenge myself to see simply the beautiful tones, textures and lines without the "distraction" colors can sometimes present to me. What better way to put myself to the test than to go to a garden, and not just any other garden. Last Friday I was at the Los Angeles Arboretum - 127 acres of botanical garden and historical site, with plants from all over the world including rare and endangered species. My eyes feasted on colors I could only imagine in my dreams (although they say one dreams in black and white). You probably can appreciate the difficulty I have when showing you what I've seen in colors in black and white. But I think I'm up to the challenge. And I hope you will join me (and once in a while cheer me on) as I continue my "colorless" journey for a little while longer.
