Taken in the Clifton neigborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio.

In recent years, Clifton is the scene for what we call the chalk festival (more officially known as "Street Scapes") where artists draw paintings on a blocked off street with chalk. These are some of the tools one artist was using.

Contest Entry
Subject: "Photojournalism"
Award: 4th Place

Taken in the Clifton Neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio.

In recent years, Clifton is the scene for what we call the chalk festival (more officially known as "Street Scapes") where artists draw paintings on a blocked off street with chalk. This is one of the artists working on her submission. Remarkably, if conditions cooperate, the art work remains on the street for quite some time.

Northside area of Cincinnati. I found this guy at an art show held in Northside. He was dressed like this as a tribute to local artist, Raymond Hiawatha Thunder-Sky who died in 2004. He was a descendant of a Mohawk chief and a Hungarian nobleman and would frequently be seen around town at demolition and construction sites dressed like this while he painted. The non-profit Thunder-Sky Inc.gallery and organization was founded in his memory. You can find more about him and his art on-line.
