On Facebook yesterday Laurent Martres announced 2012 availability for the book I'm authoring, "Photographing California - South," another installment in his PhotoTripUSA series.
I was a huge fan of his first three Photographing the Southwest books, so I'm thrilled and honored to be selected to create his first California book. I'm averaging 5000 miles per month as I chase key astronomical events, seasonal conditions and weather events. I'll be posting updates as I go to my blog (www.MyPhotoGuides.com), Facebook account and Twitter feed (JeffSullPhoto).

As I wrap up this guide book I've been working on for(ever) years, I'm revisiting a few photos I took in the past to save copies in an appropriate size and resolution for printing. In many cases it's also turning out to be productive to revisit the color and contrast adjustments using Lightroom 5, which offers new adjustments for adjusting brightness and whites compared to Lightroom 3. The spot removal cursor can now be dragged to remove linear objects. There's a new radial cursor to help with dodge and burn operations. So overall, I just get better results.
