Just over a 5 minute exposure early in the afternoon combining both the old and new piers at Swanage.

Now that the divers pontoon has been dismantled for the winter it was now a good chance for me to try out the firecrest 16 stop ND filter. I know places like this have been done to death but it is something I wanted to do, so while I was visiting Swanage the other day I thought I'd give it a go. Here I combined the old and new piers unfortunately not sure why but had quite bad light leakage at the shadows with the old pier, I have taken out around 90% and still not happy so here I turned it into a black and white for now, I don't do Black and White much so hope you like.

Since then I have not been able to recreate the light leakage so put it down to bad attachment to the camera.

Almost a 9 minute long exposure taken on a foggy day down at Lepe Country Park taken late afternoon.

This time the firecrest 16 stop ND filter was fitted with more care and image exposed exactly how I wanted it too, also thought this lends itself to being in Black and White as well.

The fishing boat in the distance was well anchored to be sharp enough for me to leave in as a point of interest, and leaving in the cobwebs.

Attached to the Sony camera is a 16 stop ND firecrest filter and polariser, with the in camera stabiliser turned off as this improved sharpness quite noticeably.

Lepe Dolphins shown here according to the sign just behind where I took this formed part of a pier head that was used to load ships departing for Normandy during D Day heading for Normandy.

Abandoned pier at Swanage. long exposure on a foggy foggy morning. Took a fair few that morning from different perspectives, after I packed my camera away I noticed the fog lifting enough to reveal a row of Swanage houses and quickly got out the camera setup and took this image plus enough time to capture the famous Wellington clock tower which revealed itself fading away with the abandoned pier going onto infinity.

Used Firecrest 16 stop ND filter with 111 seconds of exposure.

There is a colour version of this as well but the Black and White version adds an eerie mood...I will be uploading the colour version but I don't like to upload similar images consecutively.

Long exposure taken earlier this year at Swanage.

This was one of those days when I got a bad colour cast from light leakage so I had a go at processing it as a Black and White with the mood of the day lending itself to this I thought anyway. Here I was trying to emphasise the mood of the morning, Got a feeling I have not got the composition quite right, quite liking where the sunlight that did reveal itself catching parts of the rock below.

In the distance a sea marker hence the title, not sure if anyone else has the same issue of coming up with a title that matches the image presented.

305 second exposure using a firecrest 16 stop ND Filter. Going forward I have now sorted the issue with light bleed, and as a test subject took a 1200 second exposure without the issue.
