Yesterday--our anniversary--Joan and I headed for Lake Michigan. The main activity was a walk through the woods to the beach at Hoffmaster State Park, near Muskegon.
Over the next few days I'm planning to post a few photos I took as we walked.
The fence/railing perhaps needs some maintenance.

The trail we took to the beach is largely about halfway up sand dunes. Thus the boardwalks.

For this photo I switched to my phone because it needed a wide angle lens. Yeah, there's some obvious distortion; that's OK.

Pretty, no? These trees mark the edge between the State Park's forest and its beach.
I've been walking Lake Michigan beaches my entire life. This kind of scenery is one of the reasons.
By the way, a pocket camera is not ideal for making photographs along the beach. A viewfinder camera would have been helpful, but my self-assigned Camera of the Month is my little Canon. So that's what I was using.
