St Vitus is a Gothic cathedral within the Prague Castle complex. The West Portal Door is the main entrance into the cathedral.

The two bronze doors have reliefs depicting stories about Saints Wenceslas and Adalbert. They are 'modern' and date to 1926 - 1929. The bronze reliefs were designed by Vratislav Hugo Brunner and were executed by Otakar Španiel.

On the top panel of the left door, Henry the Fowler (Duke of Saxony and the King of East Francia), presents the arm of St Vitus to St Wenceslas. On the right door, Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV presents the relics of Saint Vitus to the church. Note the Moravian/Silesian Eagle and the Bohemian Lion on left and right panels here; they are the main features of the Czech national emblem.

The cathedral is the burial site of many Kings of Bohemian, and also contains the relics of Saints Wenceslas, Adalbert and Vitus.

This is the main dial on the medieval astronomical clock on the south side of Prague's Old Town Hall. It was installed in 1410 and is the oldest working clock of this kind.

The background represents the Earth and the local view of the sky. Within the blue circle directly at the centre is our planet, Earth.

Golden Roman numerals at the outer edge of blue circle are the timescale of a normal 24-hour day and indicate time in local Prague time, or Central European Time.

The smaller circular dial is movable and has the 12 signs of the zodiac. The golden sun on one of the hands shows the location of the Sun relative to the Earth's orbit around it. In this photo, it is on the symbol ♌︎ (for Leo); this image was captured on August 1st). The darker globe on another hand shows the phases of the Moon.

The four figures flanking this clock dial represent four things to avoid/fear. From left they are Vanity, Greed, Death, and Lust.

This is both a clock tower and a bell tower. Construction began in the 15th Century. The Gothic lines are joined by a Renaissance style gallery added in the late 16th Century, and topped by a Spire that dates from the 1770s.

The formal name of this Gothic cathedral within the Prague Castle complex. is 'The Metropolitan Cathedral of Saints Vitus, Wenceslaus and Adalbert'.
