Last week, I felt like it was time to treat myself to something new...so I bought myself a classical guitar!

In my classes, we had been talking about the concept of self-care, to avoid burnout and provide relaxation. My family is going to Cuba next week and I'm staying at their house to dog-sit...so I couldn't travel...so I bought a guitar instead! It had been 6 years since I bought a new guitar, so I figured it was time.

And now that I have a guitar, I can start saving for my eventual trip to NYC...while I simultaneously save to pay off my student loans :P

Anyway, I've been on my break for a week now, and while I've been bored a lot, I have been doing some stuff. I went to a party a week ago; bought some schoolbooks; bought a guitar; hung out with Amanda twice, went planespotting with my mom and another time with my sister, and today I saw Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet with my friend Alicia, who is back in town. And I've got a few more things planned for next week, so hopefully I'll get my brain fully recharged before I go back to school!

Oh, and I got my marks back, and did really well...so I'm happy about that :)

I haven't gotten a good family picture of the five of us for a long time...if ever! So the other day I decided I'd do one around Christmas. Even Penny (the dog) looked at the camera! I think the orange light from the timer helped to draw her attention ;)

Anyway, hope you've all had a good Christmas! I got some nice stuff, ate a big dinner, spent time with the extended family, and now I'm gonna go...umm...probably upload this picture to Facebook, haha.

I've had this handlebar for a while now, and the chinstrap for a couple of weeks, and I figured it's time for an updated self-pic. Having facial hair can be annoying, but at the same time, there's a lot I can do with it. I had a handlebar in the summer of 2009 and it looked ridiculous in retrospect...but I think Handlebar 2011 works pretty well. I think the Movember 2010 moustache worked well, too!

Also, these are my new SGs. I bought them last week after Random Douche stole my old ones.

Anyway, I'm working this weekend, which sucks, but I had a lot of fun last night, got a lot of work done today, and...tomorrow is supposed to be super hot and humid, but at least I have Monday off!

This afternoon I went downtown in an attempt to take pictures of some subway stations on the Yonge line, south of Bloor. I figured that most of those stations wouldn't have above-ground entry buildings like they do on the Bloor line...but half of today's station entrances didn't even have signs on them to indicate which stations they were leading to. As someone who lives in the GTA and knows the system, I knew what stations they were...but for a tourist or a newcomer, I think that's a problem that needs to be fixed.
