Replacing an earlier digital photo with a better version 01-Sep-20.

This is the first of three different aircraft to be registered D-ATUA.

First flown with the Boeing test registration N1786B, this aircraft was due to be delivered to Britannia Airways AB (Sweden) as SE-DZK but that wasn't taken up. Instead it was delivered to Britannia Airways (UK) as G-BYNC in Apr-00.

In Nov-01 the aircraft was briefly re-registered PH-AAV (for 24hours) before being transferred to Britannia Airways AB as SE-DZL. In May-05 it was transferred to Hapag-Lloyd Airlines (operating as Hapagfly) as D-ATUA.

The aircraft was returned to Britannia Airways (now operating as Thomsonfly) as G-CDZL in Apr-06. Britannia Airways (UK) officially became Thomson Airways in Nov-08.

The aircraft was returned to the lessor in May-12 and was immediately leased to El Al Israel Airlines as 4X-EKM. Blended winglets were added in Sep-12. The aircraft was transferred to El Al's 'low-cost' subsidiary 'Up Airlines by El Al' in Feb-14.

Up Airlines operations were reintegrated into El Al in Sep-18. It was placed in temporary storage at Tel Aviv in mid Mar-20 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Now 23 years old it continues in service. Updated 30-Sep-23.

Replacing an earlier digital photo with a better version 26-Feb-20.

First flown with the Boeing test registration N1786B, this aircraft was delivered to Pembroke Capital and lease to Arkia - Israel Airlines as 4X-ABR in Apr-99. It was returned to the lessor in Nov-00 and sold to Aircraft Financing & Trading BV as PH-AAQ the following day.

It was leased to SunExpress Airlines (Turkey) as TC-SUF in Jan-01. The aircraft was returned to the lessor and immediately leased to Hamburg International Airlines as D-AHIE in Mar-03. It was stored at Chateauroux, France in Mar-08.

The aircraft was due to be sub-leased to Sterling European as OY-MRT but that wasn't taken up and it was wet-leased to Sterling European as D-AHIE in Jul-08. Sterling European ceased operations in Oct-08. The aircraft was returned to Hamburg International and stored at Billund, Denmark.

It was returned to the lessor the following month and moved to Brussels for continued storage. The aircraft was fitted with blended winglets in Mar-09. It was re-registered EI-EEB in Mar-09 (although the registration never appeared on the aircraft) for just 6 days before being leased to AIRES Colombia as HK-4623-X in Apr-09. The 'X' suffix was removed in Nov-09.

In Apr-10 it was re-registered EI-EEB by the lessor while the lease to ARIES continued until it was returned to the lessor in May-14. It was leased to Europe Airpost as F-GZTF the same day.

The aircraft was sub-leased to Air Transat (Canada) as C-GTQP between Nov-14/Apr-15. On it's return it was re-registered F-GTZH. Europe Airpost was merged into the ASL Aviation Group in Jun-15 and was renamed ASL Airlines France.

It was sub-leased to Air Transat as C-GTQP again between Dec-15/Apr-15. This time, when it returned, it was re-registered F-GZTO. The winter lease to Air Transat as C-GTQP was repeated between Nov-16/Apr-18 and for a year between Nov-18/Nov-19.

On it's return the aircraft was stored at Brussels until it became F-GZTO again and returned to Service in Jan-20. After 23 years in service the aircraft was permanently retired at St. Athan, Wales, UK in Jan-22. Updated 16-Jan-22.

Replacing an earlier digital photo with a better version 01-Sep-20.

First flown with the Airbus test registration F-WWIL, this aircraft was delivered to GECAS and leased to MyTravel Airways as G-YLBM in Mar-03. It was transferred to MyTravel Airways A/S (Denmark) as OY-VKS in Nov-04.

The MyTravel Group was merged into the Thomas Cook Group and MyTravel Airways A/S was renamed Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia in Apr-08. In Apr-15 the aircraft was transferred to Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium as OO-TCW.

Between May/Oct-17 the aircraft was sub-leased to Condor Flugdienst five times for a couple of weeks at a time. At the end of Oct-17, Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium was closed down and flights were transferred to Brussels Airlines.

The aircraft was transferred to Thomas Cook Airlines UK as G-TCAE and stored at Manchester. In Mar-18 it was transferred to a new company, Thomas Cook Airlines Balearics as EC-MTJ, based in Plama, Majorca, Spain.

It was sub-leased to Condor Flugdienst for the summer season between May/Nov-18 and then sub-leased to Thomas Cook Airlines UK for the 2018/19 winter season. The aircraft was sub-leased to Condor again in Mar-19 for the summer season.

However, the parent company, The Thomas Cook Group UK, ceased operations on 23-Sep-19. Thomas Cook Balearics officially closed on the same day. The aircraft was stored at Dusseldorf, Germany.

At one point it looked as though Condor would take over the lease and the registration D-ATCJ was reserved on 11-Oct-19. The lease transfer didn't happen and it was returned to the lessor as OE-IKR a few days later.

It remained at Dusseldorf until it was ferried to Kaunas, Lithuania in Nov-19 for further storage. The aircraft was ferried to Toulouse-Francazal in early Mar-20 for painting into Windrose Air livery prior to lease as UR-WRX. It returned to Kaunas in mid Mar-20 and returned to storage.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the lease to Windrose wasn't taken up and it remained stored at Kaunas. The aircraft was ferried to Miami, FL, USA in Nov-21 and leased to Global X (Global Crossing Airlines) as N278GX in Dec-21. Current, updated 19-Jan-24.
