This is the drawing that I did on my second visit to the café after six and a half months. All was good again.

In the near future I will, once again, begin posting my drawings on Flickr. Back to Café Le Sélect and other stuff. I will also continue reporting my views of Paris, from my bike, for your enjoyment.

I’ve been in a funk and haven’t drawn in weeks….months. Absolutely no motivation. Café Le Sélect was always the place I would go to keep myself drawing. It stays closed for now due to Covid. I heard that places might not reopen until the end of April beginning of May! Yesterday I pulled out some of my books and started drawing from them in my sketchbook. Just doodling to get my hand back. It was nice. More mindless drawing today too. Could I be drawing again?

Paris hier et aujourd'hui. Place de la Concorde is one of the major squares in Paris. It was built in the mid-18th century. Its original name was Place Louis XV and a statue of the king was displayed here. During the French Revolution the name was changed to Place de la Revolution and the king’s statue was replaced by a guillotine. Over 1000 people, including the King and Marie Antoinette, were executed here. In 1795 it was renamed Place de la Concorde. In 1814 it changed back to Place Louis XV, in 1826 it was renamed again to Place Louis XVI. After the July Revolution of 1830 the name returned to Place de la Concorde. FYI – avoid riding a bicycle around the place. The traffic can be crazy!!
