London General route 521: London Bridge Station - Waterloo Station, Mepham Street
Departing Kingsway / Holborn Station (M), towards Aldwych / The Royal Courts of Justice (K)
London General have retained route 521 from Waterloo (RA) with new Alexander Dennis Enviro200 MMC EVs, the new contract starting from 27 August 2016.
The new buses started entering service a few days late on 30 August. They are the first products from the new Alexander Dennis-BYD partnership, ADL providing the Enviro200 MMC bodywork with BYD supplying their K9E drivetrain.
Go-Ahead have introduced a new lower-case lettering, SEe, for the vehicles to differentiate them between their Enviro200 diesel SE-coded equivalents, a first for the London bus fleet numbering system. More coming soon on London Connected.

London General route 153: Finsbury Park Station - Moorgate, Finsbury Square
Approaching Finsbury Square / Moorgate (J)
London General started their new contract to route 153 from Northumberland Park (NP) on 3 February 2018. The route has been acquired from CT Plus with electric buses SEe65-76 completing its new allocation.
My mind went blank trying to remember the other end of route 153, Moorgate Finsbury Square the terminus I knew but less convinced that Finsbury Park was the other terminus otherwise both ends have 'Finsbury' in them. Turns out they do, a fun fact I only paid attention to after this service change.
The buses are much the same as the 360, however more 20mph road speed restrictions mean there are less opportunities to exploit pace on the 153 as it perseveres through the narrow traffic-clogged sidestreets of The City into Islington. Therefore, the 153 is less of a fun route to check out the E200EV. More to come from Electric Buses on London Connected later this year.
