A very much, and unashamedly, cliche shot of the 199 steps at Whitby taken at sunset. Unfortunately the lights weren’t illuminated, and so I elected to add some glow in post processing.

One of the “Enchanted Oaks”, Padley Gorge, taken a few weeks ago on a brilliantly misty day. I shot fairly tight to limit the extraneous clutter encroaching into the scene.

I had a specific hope from this sunrise shoot of the Buttercross in Brigg, North Lincolnshire, and that was to capture the sun rising at the end of the street on the left (Wrawby Street). But unfortunately there was an annoying slither of cloud on the horizon and by the time it cleared, the sun had moved too far to the right. Maybe I’ll be luckier another time.
Shot as a 5 shot panorama (each bracketed) with my Tilt Shift, and stitched in Lightroom. The highlights on the front of the building are due to spotlights above the upper windows.
The Buttercross, historically was the Brigg Town Hall, but is now used as a tourist information centre and as an events venue.

During a sunrise shoot at Embleton Bay, Northumberland, I was attracted by the way the incoming tide was finding its way up the beach, cutting through the sand.

An early morning start required whilst on holiday in Northumberland, to capture a sunrise at Amble lighthouse.
The lighthouse isn’t a big tower like most other lighthouses, it’s more of a beacon, emitting a red light to indicate the mouth of the harbour.
I was surprised (or maybe I shouldn’t have been) to find some others, not photographers, present, to witness this glorious start to the day.
