Taken a couple of months ago just after sunrise. The sun was rising just off camera left and providing some nice back lighting on the reeds. There was also some light mist on the water to add extra mood.

The harvest around our area is about complete already, and so it’s time to grab some straw bale shots😁.
I was woken early the other morning by the wife, who mentioned that there was some mist and colour in the sky (you’ve got to love her😁); and so I popped out to grab some quick shots. Although this spot is only a couple of minutes from where I live, the sky colours were already dissipating. However, as the sun came above the hill I was able to get some shots of the backlit bales.
The sun is a little too bright in this shot having fully crested the hill, but it’s the wife’s favourite from the set.

A sunrise shoot on a serene Embleton Beach with a lone piece of seaweed washed up on the beach, pointing towards Dunstanburgh Castle.
The sand was peppered with the footprints of the various birds, but beyond this was relatively pristine.

The Bathing House at Howick, Northumberland, shot after sunrise a few weeks ago. Conditions were near perfect; broken clouds, great light and high tide, more or less.

To mark the Summer Solstice, I thought I’d post this shot taken recently during my trip to Shropshire.
This is from the same view point as my previous image, though shot with a longer lens @260mm.
I’d been watching and waiting as the sun came up, hoping for it to reach the top of the hill so that it sat on its summit😎.
And yes that is a golf course in the foreground, set amongst the hills!
