Another shot from my Leeds visit; this one is of the the Princes Exchange building looking straight on towards the stairwell tower, and in close so that only the glass of the building is in shot. The low sun was hitting the skyline behind me which was providing some great reflections.
When my wife first saw this image she immediately said “Pac-Man” due to the shapes of the stairs, which look as if they’re going to munch a face.

A different angle of the Princes Exchange building in Leeds that I previously posted. This time a very low wide angle POV, taken end on to the building; I actually had the camera on the ground. The stairwell from the previous shot is the feature on the left of the building. The small highlights are the sun’s reflection.

Here’s a throwback to this date 4 years ago during our visit to New York.
Taken, quickly, as we were crossing the road, looking back up West 34th Street, towards the Empire State Building. We were making our way to the Vessel and I was hoping to stop off at the Mecca of photography that is B&H, only to find that it was closed for a holiday or Stock taking, or whatever. Needless to say I was a little disappointed.
In taking the shot, I obviously had to work quickly but I also wanted to ensure that I got the Empire State Building in just the right spot.

Here’s wishing everyone all the best for the New Year.
As I still haven’t been capturing many new images lately, I thought this shot, which was taken earlier in 2023 at Whitby, would be appropriate as my first post of 2024.

The other day a good photographer friend and I went out to Spurn Point for the day, the first real photo outing I’ve undertaken for @ 4 months. It was great to be finally out again with the camera, despite the long walk in, and the long walk back out; the last time I visited this location you could drive down the peninsula, unfortunately a few years ago part of the road was washed away by the ever encroaching sea.
This was a quick grab with my phone; I positioned myself so that the sun was directly behind the lighthouse, in order to provide a decent silhouette.
