When I was out in San Francisco in September, I went tothe Cable Car Barn at Washington/Mason in the hopes of doing the "Hyde Ride" with Sacramento/Clay "Big 19", the car that wss restored to service in 2019 after 77 years of retirement. Well, my timing wss way off, becaase I had apparently just missed it. While waiting for it to return, I did some Powell car shooting. Here is Powell/Hyde car 23, letting Powelll/Mason car 9 go first at Washington/Mason. Car 9 is a historically-liveried car, representing Market Street Railway in the "White Front" era betwen 1927 and 1936, with red and white around the windows. After an hour, it still hadn't shown up, so I left becuse I also need ed to shoot Caltrain's last day of diesel operation. (It went full electric the next day.) Scan from an Ektachrome.
