I love neon signs so I was happy to stay at the motel that has this sign. A lucky accident or was it fate? Its actually the Quality Inn in Chico , California 90 miles north of Sacramento. . For decades is was the Thunderbird Lodge on Main Street. It is a nice place to stay when traveling through the town as can walk just a few blocks to the downtown area of shops , dining areas and town square that is one of most charming in the state. Don't leave town without taking a walk in fabulous Bidwell Park. An American classic, the sign and the park.

A wonderful quiet time for this boy tken in the campgrounds at the California Worldfest, a sublime music 4 day festival held in the Sierra Nevada mountains in July. This sign says it all . One of the cool spots to visit in downtown Sacramento is the Crest Theater. It is in the Capitol square neighborhood and is a terrific neon sign. It brings back the fifties and it is ten stories of pure color joy.

Voting is a right and a privilege. It is wise to do it early if you can. Be a good citizen, fill out your ballot sign it and bring it in person to an official polling place like your local city hall. Wear a mask, keep your distance , be patient and give yourself a pat on the back when done or go get an ice cream!
This year more then ever we have to be wise. If you live in some states check your voting laws. Alas in the great state of Texas the governor want to make it as hard as possible for their citizens to voting. Declaring only one polling place in each county making people use a whole day to wait in line in big cities. He should go to jail for that instead just get out there and vote. Don't let anyone take your voting rights away. If needed bring your ID. Take a picture when you turn in your ballot and encourage all to vote who are eligible. Help save democracy and be kind to all. GO VOTERS!
