Two years.
Who’d have thought that 731 days could’ve have passed so inevitably quickly, and yet so inexorably slowly. I’ve come through relatively unscathed, and I’m that much more grateful that I’ll get to spend today surrounded by my family and friends, celebrating our blessings.
Here’s to a winter holiday and a New Year that I hope will mark the return of this lovely creature’s presence in my life.

I wanted to clarify something from my last post, and to thank all of you who’ve commented, or sent lovely messages via email, text, or Messenger.
No, I haven’t had COVID-19: I’ve been able to avoid being infected with SARS-CoV-2 myself, despite being on the frontlines for almost 2 years… in fact, I’m back to the fray in about 3 hours. But please know that the fight has still taken its toll on the physicians and nurses and RTs and aides and pharmacists and therapists and social workers and… well, you get the idea. And to know that we’re looking at yet another winter of overflowing ERs and wards and ICUs is… a bit disheartening.
I hope I can be back in person soon, but for now, I’ll let my spirit check in from time to time to enjoy your camaraderie, your joy, your love… and yes, your gorgeous photos!

I can’t believe the last time I posted here was the January before the pandemic. It’s been a long 22 months, and my trans journey has been stalled for most of it while I was forced to focus most of my energies to fighting the ravages of the coronavirus - physical, mental, emotional. But it’s time to find my way again.
This photo is pre-pandemic, but I hope to return with some new photos soon. I’m the meantime, I’m hoping to reconnect with as many of my friends as possible… and maybe even make it back into public in 2022!!

A quick question for my friends: At what point does one acquire that seemingly wonderful place of existence where she loses her fears regarding the perceived negative reactions from others? Clearly, many of you have crossed that threshold into that beautiful land of “WGAF”; I’ve talked about it with a few of you.
Did it just happen one day? Was there any event that triggered it? Or did you just have to put on your big girl panties and step over that threshold boldly, choosing to be the agent of change?
I find myself teetering on this edge, and events like Keystone, or being out in NYC or my home town with friends, have definitely brought me closer… yet here I stand, still rooted in the land of giving a… well, you know. Would love any advice from you wonderful women!

As I prepare for the evening’s festivities, I’m reminded how fortunate I am. I have my health, my family, a secure occupation… and the best friends a girl could want (and you know who you are)! I’m so lucky to have found so many of you, both in person and online, and I hope that the coming year(s) will connect us all the more closely.
So here’s to 2019, a wonderful year. I anticipate 2020 will be even better, and I hope for each of you that it’s filled with love and laughter and joy and friendship.
