Just Around The Bend...
The bitter cold wind was almost intolerable, the neck scarf pulled up to the nose the hat pulled down.
Our exposed cheeks burned with the cold, our eyes ran water to the point it felt like we were crying.
The wind at the edge of the lake was merciless and unrelenting. it pulled at our jackets and tugged at our pants. if it wasn't for the many base layers and good quality jackets, we would have given up long time ago.
We knew just around the edge of the point; the wind would abate and the trees on the western edge of the ridge would afford a bit of a respite from the wintery weather we were in.
After braving the elements for the better part of two hours, we made our way back to the car; having taken enough photos for one day..

Still Hanging In There..
After the big snow fall on Friday night, we went for a long walk in the park.
A strong wind blew most of the leaves off of the nearby Oak trees, yet there were still a few who refused to let go and be taken by the wind. These guys are really waiting for spring to abandon their tree.

Hanging On...
I always marvel at the beauty of a snow storm and try my best to capture it as it appears. I try not to over edit my shots and try to keep them as pure as possible. That particular morning in January was truly magical... the trees were layered in a thick coat of snow with a crust of thin ice to make them even more sparkly and beautiful..
These buds were hanging on till spring and were not ready to fall to the ground. they certainly are resilient.

A beautifully sunny day with temperatures nearing -10 Karen and I were driving through south Caledon along Highway 10, shot this photo of Rural Route RR#4 just north of Mayfield. the snow glistened and sparkled in the sun.

Synchronized Swans...
The last few days of December was the perfect day for a walk in Jack Darling Memorial Park.
The shoreline was dotted with gulls, geese, ducks and more swans than I have seen in one place in a long time. they were all busy foraging for as much food as they could get before the great lake freezes over.
These two love birds were swimming together almost as if synchronized i edited the back ground black and white and left the swans in colour.
