We tried to get down to the air show in Toronto, but traffic nightmares and no parking only allowed for this one shot… so we headed to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to catch a few shots. Let me know what you think in the comments. And thanks for viewing.

The Distant Shore...

A large storm front rolled through Southern Ontario and hammered the Lake Ontario shoreline with heavy Winds and rain, just before the storm hit, we ventured into Jack Darling Park to take a few photos. Strong upper level winds blew the clouds to and fro; rising and falling this way and that, the heaviest thickest clouds pushing the thinner ones all over the horizon.

We managed to snap around thirty shots when the rain soaked clouds burst open and we were forced to find shelter..

Karen and I went for a drive to Toronto to get some summer city shots.. We parked at City hall and spent four hours walking around the downtown core, taking In the sights like tourists. The core is such a bustle of activity that we are not accustomed to.... so many cars, buses and people all frantic to get somewhere, to do something and you had better not slow them down.

I took a few shots that I think turned out really well. This one is of City hall taken from across Nathan Phillips Square; the three arches frame the TORONTO sign nicely don't you think.?

The dreaded winter cold has found me and sapped all my energy, housebound and unable to go exploring I find myself reflecting back on the year that was 2015; going through my photos files from last year. I have pulled a few of what I consider to be hidden gems... as I like to call "found on second sight."

This photo taken August 2015 at Port Credit Marina in Mississauga: the city of Toronto skyline can be seen in the background. Thanks to focal compression from the lens I was using; the lens compressed the background making it appear much closer to the marina than it actually was.

The weather was extremely warm and humidity thick and heavy made moving or breathing difficult without effort. Dark puffy clouds had just rolled in possibly foreboding a coming storm, I don’t remember: What I do remember was the clinking of the masts and rigging of all the sailboats in the harbour beating out a rhythmical almost chime sounding song mixed with seagulls screams and the occasional laughter of children at play nearby. It was a great day to be close to the water.
