Eggborough Power Station was in full flow when seen across snow-covered fields near Selby on the 8th December 2010. You can see why it might have been classed as pollution when you think that all this effluent was caused by burning coal. All gone now anyway.

5029 "Nunney Castle" roars away from Irwell Vale with the 14:00 from Bury. 3rd January 1993. A spectacular exhaust, I think you'd agree. Can't beat a bit of cold weather and a back-lit exhaust!

75014 approaches Summerseat with the 10:00 from Bury on the 30th December 2000. This was a day of sub-zero temperatures and hoar frost that lasted all day. One couldn't resist photting in such conditions, even if it was risking frostbite, especially here, where we waited ages for the train to turn up, as it was running very late, presumably due to the weather conditions. I'm glad I had the wit to take both colour slide and monochrome print film images though.

4422 passes Little Burrs with the 13:00 from Bury on the 3rd January 1993. This 4F, which had been restored at the Churnet Valley Railway a little time previously was doing the rounds of various preserved railways at the time, including of course, the East Lancs Railway.

45596 "Bahamas" leaves Ewood Bridge behind as it heads for Rawtenstall with the 14:00 from Bury on the snowy 28th January 1995. The loco visited the East Lancs Railway for lengthy periods in the mid-1990s.
