A very work-worn D7516 passes the closed Cumwhinton station with 8E15 Carlisle Kingmoor to Healey Mills mixed freight in July 1971. The photo was taken by a former photting colleague of mine called Geoff Greenwood, who's slides I've just taken into my possession. Sadly he passed away a couple of years ago. Of the slides I've gone through so far, this image stood out and I couldn't resist scanning it immediately. Let's hope I find more gems like this!

66017 comes off Ribblehead Viaduct with 4S70 09:45 Drax to Ayr coal empties. 29/12/2008. This is a wider view of a shot that's been on my Flickr for some time. I doubt that I'll ever repeat this as there are no longer coal trains over the S&C, let alone in light like this!

60054 is seen between Cononley and Crosshills with 6E97 10:44 Newbiggin to Tees Dock gypsum empties. 13/11/2018. Two minutes earlier there was a rainbow, but I can't complain because at least the sky was dramatic and the train was in sun, which was by no means guaranteed.
