31122 climbs Heaton Lodge Dive-Under with 6E17 10:23 Folly Lane to Haverton Hill ICI tanks. 31/8/85. Note the old-style wagons in use on the train on this occasion. Even later that year they were using different, presumably newer, wagons. Class 31s weren't common on this working either.

31174 stands at Carnforth on the 14th April 1985. The reason for including this quite average shot is that this was my first-ever sighting of a loco in the original Railfreight grey livery. For some reason I've always liked grey locos. Weird, or what!
