An Inter City 125 comes off the High Level Bridge at Newcastle on the 21st April 1984. The shot is taken from the opposite bank of the Tyne in Gateshead and notice how the bridge dwarfs the buildings below, making them look like part of a model village!

43086 runs into York with a Kings Cross to Edinburgh service on the 21st October 1984. Note the 08 pulling a rake of postal vans away from the station. Possibly the stock of the York to Shrewsbury mail. No wires and much trackwork then also!

43028 sets out from York, while a sister train leaves for the south in the background. Note the blue and grey coaches behind 43028. The sets were in the process of being painted into the first Inter City livery at this time. 26th July 1985.
