43084 "County of Derbyshire" stands at Leeds on the 28th January 1989. It was one of the HST power cars fitted with buffers in connection with the electrification of the ECML. The power cars so fitted were used as a kind of DVT at the opposite end to the electric loco.

Viewed from a nearby hill called Scout End, 31225 heads east at Mytholmroyd with 7E34 11:00 Ashton to Lindsey. A Class 156, at that time the mainstay of passenger services in the Calder Valley, passes in the opposite direction bound for Manchester. 1st February 1989.
