A view of the Matterhorn taken from the Gornergratbahn railway as we were climbing out of Zermatt. The view from our hotel wasn't much different and I remember being stunned by how big the Matterhorn seemed to be in comparison to the buildings of Zermatt when we got up in the morning following our overnight arrival.

Taken during our Glacier Express rail expedition in 2007. This was the view from near the summit station of the Gornergratbahn. The Matterhorn seemed to develop a cloud topping from late morning, so one had to be pretty quick to get your shots of it in an unshrouded condition!
