A general view of the Norfolk Broads at Horning. You can see in this view how busy it is, especilally when the weather is sunny, as it was on the day of our visit on the 21st September 2024. I'm so pleased that the friends we were staying with over the weekend took us to this place. It was absolutely fantastic, despite it being so busy.

Many of the buildings in Horning are stunning - well they were to me. This is the Swan Inn, built in 19th century but with an attached cottage dating from 1696 or 7 (see the next picture).

This beautiful thatched complex is the Staithe & Willow Bistro in Horning. At the moment it's closed, but I can't believe it will be empty for long, given its location and how lovely it is. Idyllic!

Another superb building in Horning is this one. It's called "The Brambles" and is an archetypal Norfolk thatched cottage.
