I took this photo from a bus in Xinjiang, in western China. This photo is the reason why my nickname is "nicointhebus" as this is probably my most popular photo. I gave this title as, when I was visiting this Uyghur region in 2005, it became pretty clear for me that the future of this minority would be quite complicated and uncertain within the Han dominated China. Nevertheless, I could not imagine how badly things would turn after the new policy implementation in 2016

Editing some old drone photos I did last year. On one hand, I cannot believe that this magic area is no more accessible for me at the moment. But on the other hand, I am happy to think that this place is experiencing now an abrupt tourist break, as it became literally invaded (inc. by me) over the recent years. Breathe dear little church, breathe and enjoy peacefully again the beauty and the quietness of your enchanted valley.
