It's only 503 feet (153 m) but it really makes a statement. Myth & legend says that the design is based on a gold-foiled champagne bottle. I don't think its true.
Built in 1929 as the HQ of the infamous Union Carbide & Carbon Co. its been three hotels since - Hard Rock Chicago, St. Jane Chicago, and currently the Pendry.
