Luncheon to Éamon de Valera by Women's Irish Education League, Nov. 16th 1919 is the caption with this photo. A ballroom crammed with tables, each one surrounded by people, mostly ladies, with US flags and Irish tricolours spread about. I hope that the food was suitable for the occasion.

A very interesting photo from the Mason stable of the Purty Kitchen in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin. As far as I am aware there is still a pub and restaurant called the Purty Kitchen out there, I wonder if it is the same premises / business or have there been changes over the years?

Yet another photo from the collection of the late Uachtarain na hEireann, Sean T. O'Ceallaigh (President of Ireland). A dinner in honour of then Archbishop Mannix who was a very well known and liked Irish born cleric with Mr. O'Kelly on the right behind the man with the moustache!

This could prove to be a stumbling block in the pantheon of successes we have had in identifying people, places and times. An image of three men at a breakfast table with all the accoutrements for the petit dejeuner and especially a fine, big teapot. I love the piping for the gas light over their heads!

While some have pointed out the "Collins-esque" nature of the chap on the left it is most probable that these are associates of photographer and med student JJ Clarke. It's even plausible that these are his boarding "room mates" at St. Alban's Road in Dublin. The 1901 census shows Clarke boarding with two chaps named William Flynn and Godfrey Ross. (Eminently plausible methinks...)

There may have been no cup after yesterdays All-Ireland match but there is no shortage of them here! A fine display of pottery and that lovely, old and now rarely used word, "Delph", reminding us of a town in Holland.

With thanks in particular today to everyone, including Niall McAuley, O Mac and beachcomber, there seems to be a solid consensus, supported by circumstantial and documentary evidence, that this Mason image was related to a display at the 1907 Irish International Exhibition. An exhibition we've visited before. Perhaps the most telling clues are the contemporary news article (catalogued by our friends in the National Library of Australia), that beachcomber highlights, and which seems to paraphrase the signage we see in this image, and the contemporary guidebook which sharon.corbet mentions below...

Collection: Mason Photographic Collection

Date: Catalogue range c.1890-1910. Most likely c.1907
