Funeral procession of Fenian Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa. Trams drew to a halt and crowds lined the streets as the coffin passed. O'Rossa had died on Staten Island on 29 June 1915, but his body was brought back to Ireland for burial in Glasnevin Cemetery.

This photo was taken at Parnell Square East, or Rutland Square East as it was then known...

Thanks to DaveHurley1 for the information that Seán Collins (brother of Michael) was a pall bearer at this funeral.

Date: Sunday, 1 August 1915

Four bridesmaids with rather large bouquets. The bride may have been Mrs De La Poer, or she was mother of either the bride or groom.

Thanks to Niall McAuley, we now know this photo was taken at Gurteen-le-Poer, Clonmel.

And, with thanks to sharon.corbet, it seems almost certain that the wedding in question was on 1 August 1933 between Geoffrey Mandeville and Frances de la Poer. Sharon tells is that the ceremony was described in the Irish Times and that bridesmaids were "Misses Patricia and Valerie de la Poer, Miss Ida Mandeville and Miss Eliott", and were wearing "shadow lace frocks of écru colour over pale pink, with multicoloured floral wreaths and carried bouquets of pink carnations".

This fine officer is S.W. Harris. He had presumably seen military action as we have other photos of him wearing medals. He may have been connected with Ashfield House, Co. Kilkenny. Wonder if he went off to war in 1914?

The sharpness of this photo is not great, but could not resist it because of the stuffed badger! It was taken at the Tramore Bazaar, where lots of Waterford businesses advertised their wares with stalls and tents.

From the size of the tent, we believe this group worked for a large Waterford concern, but the only evidence of which one is from "HOP" and "FORD", presumably "... Shop, Waterford".
