The magic of the Clonbrock Collection is that it comes from those old Anglo Irish families outside the milieu of most of the population at that time. People of wealth and privilege, culture and who travelled widely for leisure rather than for their livelihood. Here the Baroness is leaving her residence/accomodation to go to the Coronation of the British Sovereign and the dress is most impressive.
Based on investigations on this image, including confirmation from Rhys Chris Pease that the Clonbrock/Dillon family had an address at 45 Cadogan Place, we have mapped this image to the Knightsbridge/Belgravia area of London....

I was about to post a landscape scene and accidentally clicked on this and thought that the young baby and adoring mother deserved their day in the sun even more! Life is much more fleeting than landscapes and the best time for a parent is when a baby is good, and healthy and responsive and this little one looks just perfect. I worked with an old man a long time ago named Archie Broomhead, a real gentleman who made a big impression. Could they have been related?

Really delighted with this one, as we have so little evidence of Jewish life in Ireland in our photographs! We found out that the bride and groom were Ester Levin of John Street, Waterford (22), and Myer Stein of Raymond Street, Dublin (25), and that this wedding took place at Waterford Courthouse, in early September 1901.
