The solution to the current housing crisis was hiding in the National Library Photographic Archives all this time and nobody knew it! Mrs. Moore of had her house built for the cost of £5 and even allowing for inflation that would be more than manageable today - I think:-D
A nice wee cottage, all newly whitewashed with chickens and dare I say it a dog in the yard, what more could Mrs. Moore, or anyone else ask for?

A handsome couple with their DOG pose outside their halldoor on Arranmore, off the coast of Donegal way back in 1975. They are obviously living high above the shore and have their home pristine, newly whitewashed and with a slate roof. What was happening to bring Denis to the island at that time?

An interesting image from the Lawrence Collection for today with Coole House, Millstreet in Co. Cork and some of the family there. The lady on the right looks downright uncomfortable in her pose while the lady at the rear looks like a reluctant participant. The littlest person on board must provoke some interest as having a person of colour in North Cork back in the early 20th century must have been unusual, to say the least.

Clearly the golfer gave up trying to play his way out of that situation, and brought in the photographer to record the scene so he could shut the naysayers up in the bar in future!
The Golf House in Rockingham, Co. Roscommon looks very neat and tidy, apart from the clubs and balls on the floor, but would not accommodate much more than a foursome?

Just about to enter yet another lockdown, so the splendid isolation of Mr. Pike’s house in Achill seemed appropriate. Achill today has that rugged and special beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way, and Achill in Mr. Wynne’s time must have been even more rugged and isolated. Whoever Mr. Pike was, he had a fine house with lots of chimneys and windows to show his wealth! What can we find out about him today?
