We had torrential rain a couple of days ago. It came from the direction of the South Pole and brought the cold up to us. It reminded me of a poem I heard read by a famous NZ / Aotearoa poet called Hone Tuwhare. You can hear him speak it here: poetryarchive.org/poem/rain-2/ Photos are all taken looking out windows at home. BTW it was sunny yesterday and today, our city has less rain than the biggest city in NZ :)
Thanks very much for comments.

A diving metal falcon which might still frighten a mouse if it were running across the lawn. It can swivel in the wind on the steel pyramid.
Please don't be frightened to comment. We don't bite :)

The boat towing these two intrepid adventurers is out of picture to the left. A snapshot from the roof of our hotel. I've combined a telephoto of the para-sailors with a view showing more mountains a minute or so before which is why the fine white tow rope disappears.
In other news I'm sorry for people who have lost $11 trillion on the share market since January 17th.

A tourist town with lake and mountain skiing in the winter and calling itself an adventure capital. Bungee jumping first started just out of town but I'm not tempted as my brains are loose enough :)

Just the wake of the steamship Earnslaw on our way back to Queenstown. I could have joined a sing-song in the lounge but I might have spoiled it for those who sing in tune :)
