Wellington is known for being windy as it lies by the channel (Cook Strait) which funnels wind between the North and South Islands. Windmills were seen from the ferry as we passed out of Tory Channel in the South Island.
Still on Holiday and wishing everone a very happy Christmas.

After a deep dive for 45 minutes this whale took a while on the surface getting its breath back. We were quite far out to sea from the Kaikoura mountains in the background. Whales can dive to 10000 ft butn usually 1200ft to where squids and fish are thier prey.
Internet very slow at the holiday house on a farm south of Waipukurau.

In dophin jumping skill I think this one scored close to a 10! We had watched a sperm whale catching its breath after a deep dive for 45 minutes then found a dolphin school. Seen from a Whale Watch boat off Kaikoura, a small town on the East coast in the north of NZ's South Island.
We are on holiday on our way to spend time with family. Internet time is limited but I will try to visit some friends.

We went out last night to meet with friends and enjoy some pre-Christmas fare. The lighting in this room caught my eye. Hope you are having a good weekend. Our usual daily temperature in December is around 16-18C but right now we have 28C!
Edit: Will be travelling for a while, sorry!
