This is the home for the 140 royal albatrosses near Dunedin. They nest on the far slope near the lighthouse. Unfortunately it costs money to see them nesting so I just hope to see one fly past. Best if the weather is windy :)

This is the sight that greeted me on an early morning drive recently. It is on the other side of the Peninsula from Dunedin so one comes over the hill and you never know what you will see.
