My dad was part of the Occupation of Japan as a Tech Sergeant, 3rd Gr in the US Army's MIS (Military Intelligence Service); more specifically, the Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS). He took this photo of the sign hanging outside Gen. Eichelberger's HQs in Yokohama in 1947.

Taken by my dad in late 1947; it is the US 8th Army HQs in Yokohama. The building is at harborside and still stands today as a landmark (Yokohama Customs Building).

My dad worked on the top floor in a corner office with a round window; one such window can be see in this photo.
