Trumpeter Swan

This Trumpeter Swan pushed the tip of its bill into the surface of the water at the same time it swam into a spot of sunshine. I did not notice at the time, but I can see in my photos that there appears to be fishing line dragging from this birds bill. Though discarded line would be hard enough on this bird, if the line contains lead based tackle, it may face a far worse fate of lead poisoning. Ramsey County, MN 10/29/23

I saw and photographed this River Otter back in mid-February of this year, but never saved any of the photos because I was pretty far away. Well, a friend is in need of one now (particularly in winter) so I tried my best to salvage this one. There were actually two of them dipping in and out of the water but they never posed together.
