Another image from the Longshaw Estate duck pond last weekend, with reflections of the golden Beech leaves making for a pleasing backdrop to the ducks

It took a lot of patience to get the images I wanted of ducks swimming through the reflections of autumn foliage in the pond at Lpngshaw Estate. I didn't have any food to lure them towards me and every time they did start to come close, someone else would arrive at the far side of the pond with duck food! Eventually a couple of Mandarins and (in this case) Mallards came into the area where I could get the shot.

Taken this morning at Longshaw Estate, stood on the marshy side of the pond and looking across to the stand of Beech and Pine trees - the latter an array of autumnal colours.

Walks on the local moors have been few and far between this year but I managed to get out for a couple of hours before sunset yesterday and photographed this Red Deer stag and his harem of does against the light in the west.
