Sailing St. Maarten

An older 2003 photo of a day we went sailing on the Lord Sheffield around St. Maarten. The Canadian crew was great, as well as the water, weather, on-board BBQ and the rum punch.

The Lord Sheffield is a 72-foot square-rigged ship known as a brigantine. Unfortunately, in October of 2014, Hurricane Gonzalo severely damaged the Lord Sheffield during the storm and it sunk. Efforts were made to raise and repair the ship. I'm not sure if they were successful, we haven't seen it around in years.

Colombier Beach

A 2003 photo from Saint Barthelemy. We took a ferry from St. Maarten to St. Barts on a day-trip. When we arrived, we hired a cab driver for the day. He was our tour guide, showing us all the great locations around the island and explained the history of points of interest. This beautiful spot can only be accessed by catamaran or a 25-minute hike along a goat path.

Heineken Regatta

A 2003 photo (from a boat) of the Heineken Regatta at Sint Maarten. Our timeshare week coincides with the annual event. It's always fun to watch, but the end-of-day parties on the island can be a bit much during this multi-day event.
