Spring is not just the time when nature awakens around us. It is also the time when the farmers till their fields.
I observed and captured this time in the perfect place.
It is a landscape characterized by wide valleys and rolling hills and is known for its extremely fertile soil. That's why intensive agriculture is practiced everywhere here,
This region, located in the Czech Republic, near the city of Brno, is often referred to as Czech Tuscany. Since I was there (which I had been planning to do for several years) I know why. By the way, the name of this region is Moravia. And so the area is sometimes called Moravian Tuscany.
Especially in the morning and evening hours, the landscape here looks as if it had been painted with watercolors. And yet it's all real. By the way, I reduced the color saturation in my photos. Because no one else would believe me that it really looks like that there. Today I'll show you an overview of one of the valleys that I drove through here to visit the hotspots that you'll see shortly.

Der Frühling ist nicht nur die Zeit, in der die Natur um uns herum erwacht. Sie ist auch der Zeitpunkt an dem die Bauern Ihre Felder bestellen.
Ich habe diese Zeit an dem perfekten Ort beobachtet und festgehalten.
Es ist eine Landschaft, die geprägt ist von weiten Tälern und sanften Hügeln und die für ihren überaus fruchtbaren Boden bekannt ist. Darum wird hier auch überall intensive Landwirtschaft betrieben,
Diese Region, die sich in der Tschechischen Republik, in der Nähe der Stadt Brünn befindet, wird oft als die Tschechische Toskana bezeichnet. Seit ich nun dort war (was ich schon seit mehreren Jahren vor hatte) weiß ich auch warum. Der Name dieser Region heißt übrigens Mähren. Und so denn man die Gegend auch manchmal die mährische Toskana.
Vor allem in den Morgen- und Abendstunden wirkt die Landschaft hier, als wäre sie mit Aqarellfarben gemalt. Und doch ist das alles echt. Die Farbsättigung habe ich übrigens auf meinen Fotos reduziert. Weil mir das sonst keiner glauben würde, dass es dort wirklich so aussieht.Heute zeige ich Euch einen Überblick über eines der Täler, durch die ich hier gefahren bin, um die Hotspots zu besuchen, die Ihr in Kürze sehen werdet.

I took this photo of a cherry tree in full bloom in the middle of a vineyard with forethought, as the Monday flower greeting had to be planned into it. But regardless of that, I really like the motif. And so I don't need to interrupt the series about Moravian Tuscany that has just begun. Which, by the way, wouldn't work anymore next Monday. Well, let's see how far we've come so far.
Considering I was only there for two days, I brought a few pictures with me.
For today I want to leave it at that and wish you all a happy, flowery and, if you like, vinous week (after all, there is a vineyard in the picture).

Dieses Foto, von einem Kirschbaum in voller Blüte in mitten eines Weinberges, habe ich in weisser Voraussicht gemacht, da ja der montägliche Blumengruß mit einzuplanen war. Doch auch unabhängig davon gefällt mir das Motiv sehr. Und so brauche ich die gerade begonnene Serie über die Mährische Toskana nicht unterbrechen. Was übrigens nächsten Montag schon nicht mehr klappen würde. Naja, schaun wir mal, wie weit wir bis dahin gekommen sind.
Dafür, dass ich nur zwei Tage dort unterwegs war, hab ich doch einige Bilder mitgebracht.
Für heute will ich es hiemit bewenden lassen und wünsche Euch allen eine freudige, blume und wenn Ihr mögt auch Weinige Woche (ist ja schließlich ein Weinberg auf dem Bild).

I can't guarantee that these are really chestnut trees because when I took the photo I was probably a kilometer away from this place. But the location officially has this name and I just want to believe it.
This is one of the reasons that originally motivated me to take a closer look at Moravia in the Czech Republic. Because these minimalist compositions are what this region is known for among photographers.
What you definitely need to have with you for this (for anyone who wants to follow my example) is a telephoto lens with a focal length of around 400 mm. Because you often take photos here from a great distance. And you also need a sturdy tripod that can handle the weight of the lens, because it is quite windy here in places.
And so you can easily create compositions that are not unique but definitely special. So you will see one or two minimalist shots more.

Ich kann nicht garantieren, dass dies hier wirklich Kastanienbäume sind, denn als ich das Foto gemacht habe, war ich bestimmt einen Kilometer von diesem Ort entfernt. Doch die Lokation trägt offiziell diesen Namen und da will ich dem einfach mal glauben.
Dies ist eins der Motive welches mich ursprünglich dazu motiviert hat, mich näher mit Mähren in der Tschechischen Republik zu beschäftigen. Denn diese minimalistischen Kompositionen sind es, für die diese Region unter Fotografen bekannt ist.
Was ihr hierfür allerdings auf jeden Fall dabei haben müsst (für alle, die meinem Beispiel folgen möchten) ist ein Teleobjektiv mit um die 400 mm Brennweite. Denn häufig fotografiert man hier aus großer Distanz. Und dazu braucht Ihr noch ein stabiles Stativ, was mit dem Gewicht des Objektives umgehen kann, denn hier ist es streckenweise ziemlich windig.
Und so gelingen dann recht einfach Kompositionen, die zwar nicht einzigartig aber auf alle Fälle besonders sind. Ihr werdet also noch die ein oder andere minimalistische Aufnahme zu sehen bekommen.

And now we are back in beautiful Moravia in the Czech Republic.
As I mentioned earlier, this region is very agricultural. And this hasn't just been the case since yesterday.
And so you can also find such beautiful historical windmills here, which fortunately have been preserved.
During my visit I found and photographed two of them, which fortunately were not far from each other.
If I had more time, I would definitely have driven past here several times and tried out other angles. For example, one at sunrise from back on the hills.
But unfortunately I didn't have the time for that this time.

Und schon sind wir zurück im schönen Mähren in der Tschechischen Republik.
Wie ich bereits erwähnt habe, wird diese Region sehr stark von der Landwirtschaft geprägt. Und dies ist nicht erst seit gestern so.
Und so findet man hier auch noch solche wunderschönen historischen Windmühlen, die zum Glück erhalten wurden.
Ich habe bei meinem Besuch zwei davon gefunden und fotografiert, welche zum Glück auch noch nicht weit von einander entfernt standen.
Mit mehr Zeit währe ich bestimmt noch mehrfach hier vorbei gefahren und hätte noch weitere Blickwinkel ausprobiert. Zum Beispiel einen bei Sonnenaufgang von dort hinten auf den Hügeln.
Doch dafür fehlte mir für dieses Mal leider die Zeit.

What you see here is the small town of Věteřov in Moravia in the Czech Republic.
This view literally jumped out at me when I arrived here (my hotel was just one town away and this viewpoint is right on the main road on the way there).
However, on the day I arrived it was already too late, I was too tired and the lighting conditions were too poor.
Of course, I went straight back there first thing the next morning. And lo and behold, despite the still quite dense clouds (or perhaps because of them), the sunrise conjured up a great sky over my subject.
That's what I call a successful start to the day.

Was Ihr hier seht, ist das kleine Örtchen Věteřov in Mähren in der Tschechischen Republik.
Dieser Blick ist mir förmlich entgegen gesprungen, als ich hier angekommen bin (mein Hotel war nur einen Ort weiter und dieser Aussichtpunkt liegt direkt an der Hauptstrasse auf dem Weg dort hin).
Am Tag meiner Ankunft war es allerdings schon zu spät, ich war zu müde, und die Lichtverhältnisse waren zu dürftig.
Natürlich bin ich am nächsten Morgen, als erstes, direkt wieder dort hin. Und siehe da, trotz der immer noch recht dichten Wolken (oder gerade deswegen) zauberte der Sonnenaufgang einen tollen Himmel über mein Motiv.
Das nenne ich doch mal einen gelungenen Start in den Tag.
