Grey Crowned Crane
One of the most colorful, adorned and elegant-looking cranes I have seen. The crane is native to the African continent. Size is about that of a Sandhill Crane.
There was a pair of breeding cranes at this conservancy. This female was very aggressive and protective of the male in a role reversal! Morning sunshine illuminates the crown here.
To my Avanthi!

Large grey head with white crescent on each side identifies the male. Female identified from female Green-winged Teal by larger bill, more heavily spotted undertail coverts, yellowish legs. In comparison with female Cinnamon Teal, look for Bluewing's greyer plumage, bolder facial markings and smaller bill.

Most adult redtails, especially in the east, show a belly band of dark streaks on whitish underparts. Many southwestern redtails lack belly band and have uniformly light underparts. Reddish upper tail, paler red undertail, variable pale mottling on scapulars, contrasting with dark mantle and often forming a 'V' in perched birds.
Bird was perched up on a low post near the entrance of the beach and well tolerated my approach.
