I drove 160 miles to a Bortle Scale = 1 sky to take another shot at comet NEOWISE. Pretty happy I got to capture the ion tail (not the curvy tail, but the one extending straight from the core). The original plan was to set up in front of a lake (Lake Sumner) so that I could have the water as the foreground, and maybe even a reflection of the comet on the water. Alas, they seem to have closed the lake (which is a state park) because of COVID-19, so I couldn't get near the water at all. I wondered around (in bit of a panic because the comet was nearing rise), and just chanced upon this windmill in the pitch dark, and quickly set up in front of it for this shot :)

Weather was not good. I believe it was drizzling. Not a lot of structure in the clouds. And yet, with long exposure, a gradation in the sky that I actually quite liked ;)

The Quiraing, Isle of Skye, Scotland. February, 2016.

So obviously I've seen many photos of the Quiraing, and I've wanted to capture some sunrise shots here. Well, the first visit to Skye amounted to three days of mostly rain, and the time I was at the Quiraing, it was actually raining sideways LOL. But I consider myself lucky in that my second visit up here 8 months later gave me this :) Also, the leftover snow is definitely a nice touch. I'm thinking February actually might be a pretty good time to visit Scotland :D
