" Rose Hill Manor ", Unframed image size 14 x 20 inches, by Harry Richardson.
This is a signed print of a watercolor of Rose Hill Manor in Frederick, Md.

Thomas Johnson, the first elected governor of Maryland(1777-1779) and delegate to the first Continental Congress, lived here in later life with his daughter Ann and her family until his death in 1819. It is written that George Washington visited Thomas Johnson many times here. Johnson had served under Washington in the Continental Army. Johnson was born in Calvert County, Md. in 1732.

On the grounds of Rose Hill Manor is a wonderful children's museum of colonial life as well as a farm and carriage museum. More info at www.rosehillmuseum.com

Image size 15 x 22 inches. This is a watercolor by Harry Richardson of his grandmother on her birthday. The location was on the front porch of her stone farmhouse by the Monocacy River near Creagerstown, Md. She was born in 1899 and spent her whole life in Frederick County. She raised ten children and lived on a farm all of her life. She had just turned 75 years old at the time of this portrait.
This painting was selected for display at the 19th Annual Juried Exhibition at the Corcoran Museum of Art in Washington, D.C. in 1974.

"Windy Willow", 2009, by Maryland artist Harry L. Richardson. This is an original acrylic painting of an old springhouse on Israel Creek near Walkersville, Maryland. The springhouse, built about 1781, was very important to early farm life. The structure protected the source of fresh drinking water for the family and provided a means of cooling milk and other dairy products and vegetables during hot weather.

Framed size, approx. 21 x 25 inches.
