How about an Alaska aurora?

This was an incredible night. This was the most spectacular Northern Lights show that I had ever seen. It literally surrounded us with color in the sky in every direction. It went on all night. Darlene and I had to go back to our tent and get some sleep and when we were inside the tent the green light from the aurora's glow illuminated us inside the tent.

This is a scene along the Turnagain Arm near Girdwood.

It was a beautiful night at The Painted Hills near Mitchell in Central Oregon during the recent Northern Lights display.

It seemed odd that there was nobody there when I arrived. It was so peaceful. I love the Painted Hills.

There were clouds there but they were dynamic and were moving and creating beautiful textured veils that would tease with what they were trying to conceal. At one point the aurora was actually blazing as an arch over the moon in the southern sky.
