After taking sunrise photo at bridge area of Pyramid Lake, the golden light scattered on top of the mountains, driving along Pyramid Lake to see the rest part of the lake, found this place where the red chairs were on the pier, facing to this beautiful mountain!

Early morning at Pyramid Lake - Jasper
It was really early, very dark driving to Pyramid Lake, no time to check the best sunrise location the night before, dropped several places… finally stopped here, bridge, central “islands”, mountains… When the golden light shinning on top of the mountains, there was a bit breeze, reflection was not perfect. Otherwise it was a peaceful morning enjoying the first light in this gorgeous lake.

Medicine Lake - This intriguing lake is a place of mystery and Indian legend. Due to a unique underground drainage system, the water level of the lake varies from season to season … sometimes it actually disappears! Every fall this lake mysteriously drains. What makes Medicine Lake unusual is that there is no visible channel for draining the lake – so where does the water go? The answer is, “out the bottom,” like a bathtub without a plug. Early Indians once thought that “spirits” were responsible for the dramatic fluctuations in the placid waters. Interpretive exhibits explain the phenomenon but nobody knows for sure where all of the water goes.
During the 1970s researchers used a biodegradable dye to determine the underground river's extent. The dye showed up in many of the lakes and rivers in the area to the point where it became clear that the underground system was one of the most extensive in the world.
Medicine Lake was long, most part of the lake was dry, people walked on the lake to catch the fishes... this was the "deepest" part of the lake. The photo was taken at sunset with reflection of the mountain on the lake, the golden light painted the mountains beautifully!

Early morning in the dark, getting to Cavell Road - Mount Edith Cavell area. Driving the 14-km road, which is narrow and has tight switchbacks that are unsuitable for trailers and large motorhomes (eighteen bends in 180-degree 😉). Arrived the parking lot in the middle of the mountains, no cars there at all. The hiking to the glaciers at its head was not so difficult, too quiet in the early morning, bells was not enough to scare the bears away, putting on the apple music on loudly while hiking. The views of the lush Astoria Valley along Mt. Edith Cavell and Sorrow Peak were spectacular in the early morning light.
Music to scare the bears: Vassilis Saleas - Stone Age 😉

Early morning at Edith Cavell (www.flickr.com/photos/runqing/51501198837/in/dateposted/), on the end of the video, showing “The Angel Glacier”. The hanging Angel Glacier spills over a 300 meters cliff above a turquoise pond. After taking the sunrise photo, walked to the close end of the north face of Mount Edith Cavell, walking along the pond to find the unique icebergs floating on the pond, hearing rumble from time to time… Waited about an hour to have the right light shining on the iceberg, here was another one iceberg under the light, tele-lens was used for the shot 😉
