Also called the Ashy Wren-warbler. This small Warbler is a resident breeder in the Indian subcontinent, ranging across most of India, Nepal, Bangladesh, eastern Pakistan, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and western Myanmar. It is a common bird in urban gardens and farmlands in many parts of India and its small size, distinctive colours and upright tail make it easy to identify.

This time a female Common Mormon (papilio polytes), clicked as it landed on a Hawaiian hibiscus growing in the backyard. I loved the bokeh.

"Every bird, every tree, every flower reminds me what a blessing and privilege it is just to be alive."

A view from my porch. The birds are the Greater Racket-Tailed Drongos. They were basking at dusk while perched on an Indian Laburnum tree. This shot is similar to an earlier upload, but this one was clicked a bit later than the earlier one and so the colour of the sky had changed. Also this one was clicked with the R10 and RF 18-150mm kit lens.

Was driving by the beach when I saw a single one of this foraging in the froth. Stopped the car and got out to check. Luckily I had my R7 with 300mm f/4L + Kenko 1.4 with me. Tried to get close and the bird took off giving me the chance to get this shot. I was later surprised to see two more of them further away. I guess they are coming from north central Siberia to spend the winter in warmer climes.

This bird is one of the most widespread of the Curlews, breeding across much of subarctic Asia and Europe. This species feeds by probing soft mud for small invertebrates and by picking small crabs and similar prey off the surface.

A Bronzed Drongo on a Moringa Oleifera tree growing in the backyard. It is a fast-growing, drought-resistant tree of the family Moringaceae, native to the Indian subcontinent. The bird is a resident in the forests of the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia. It captures insects flying in the shade of the forest canopy by making aerial sallies from its prominent perch. Very similar to the other Drongos of the region but somewhat smaller and more compact with differences in the fork depth and the patterns of gloss on the feathers.
